Where can You Elope on The oregon Coast?

The Oregon Coast has 362 miles of gorgeous coastline and, although it isn't all accessible, there are a ton of stellar locations to have your elopement. If you haven't had the chance to visit, I highly recommend you do.

Of that 362 long-ass miles of coastline, there are sandy beaches, breathtaking geographical features, sea stacks, cliffs, a few sand dunes, ocean-side forests, cascading waterfalls, capes and so much more.

The exciting part about this abundance of locations? All of these can be options for your elopement spot.

Now, let's dive into some of my favorite spots on the Oregon Coast!

Oregon Coast permit Information

If you are eloping on the Oregon Coast, be aware that there may be permitting fees. Typically, if your guest count is under 50 people and you are not bringing any chairs, props, or big floral installations with you, there is no permit cost.

There can be exceptions to this though (totally annoying, I know), but a ton of different organizations and groups own and oversee different chunks of land on the Oregon Coast. Their rules and regulations on the land may vary so it is always best to double check and look up your dream locations rules.

If this all seems like it's super overwhelming, have no fear! I am here to help you. Planning and gathering permitting information is one of the many services I offer my elopement couples!

The Best Seasons To Elope on the Oregon Coast

Spring-time and fall on the Oregon Coast are my personal favs. The major benefit of a spring/fall elopement on the coast is that the crowds are fairly low, aside from local Oregonians.

Weather in these seasons stays pretty consistent.

  • Spring daily weather average: low 40s to mid 50s
  • Fall daily weather average: mid 40s to the low 60s

While the crisp air does linger in the morning, the warmth settles in nicely by mid-day.
Summer is by far, the best weather you will get on the coast. Throughout the last few years, our hot streak has lasted longer than normal, so there are weeks in July and August where the Oregon Coast feels like the California Coast.

Typical summer weather on the Oregon Coast can be a little sporadic, but here's the usual temps.

  • Highs: mid-high 60s
  • Lows: mid-high 40s and into the low 50s

The weather may heat up in the summer, but be warned that the water remain pretty crisp.

Spring & Fall

Summer

Eloping on the Oregon Coast in the summertime can mean heave crowds. If you are planning a summer coastal elopement, I highly recommend a sunrise of sunset elopement.

Pick a place to stay that provides close access to your elopement location. This can help you avoid fighting for parking, especially along the Northern coast. This will also provide a beautiful place for you and your partner to get ready!

Be prepared for the rain. The Coast is known for quite a bit of rainfall during these seasons. Mentally & physically preparing for the possibility of rain, despite the forecasted weather. This is a great way to manage expectations and welcome what the day tosses at you.

Aim for sunset! The spring and fall sunsets on the coast are always soooooo gorgeous. You won't want to miss that!

Spring & Fall Tips

A great tip no matter the season

The tides along the coast are constantly shift and changing. It is so important that you make sure you know when the tide is coming in and out. Seriously, there is nothing worse than getting stranded on a hidden beach that only pops up during low-tide or having high-tide ruin your plans.

As an elopement photographer, I always make sure to check the tide reports before taking clients out. It never hurts to double-tap and be extra diligent!

Great Places to stay on the coast

Finding a cozy, welcoming and warm space to stay during your elopement in so important. Below, I have found so really beautiful Airbnbs that caught my eye. When I am looking at these places to stat, lighting and overall ambiance is something that is taken into consideration. The price range varies for all of these stays, so wander through and see if you can find one that fits your liking. If not, let's connect and work together to find the perfect stay!

I love me a damn good adventure, letting my creativity run wild, deep talks with people I love, a free spirit, a gut busting laugh with the people I vibe with, making lasting memories, goofy-ass conspiracy theories , human connection, the great fucking outdoors and being in water (oceans, lakes, rivers, pools). Being in water is where I feel the most grounded.

Woah, woah , woah, I forgot one thing! A good slice of pizza and sushi deserve to make the list as well. I didn't mean to leave you out babes.

I also love empowering my couples to do shit their way, build their ideal elopement day and to be intentional!
